A mission mode project (MMP) is an individual project within the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) that focuses on one aspect of electronic governance, such as banking, land records or commercial taxes.
NeGP comprises 31 mission mode projects (MMP), which are further classified as state, central or integrated projects. Within NeGP, "mission mode" implies that projects have clearly defined objectives, scopes, and implementation timelines and milestones, as well as measurable outcomes and service levels.
  • Central MMPs include Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking, Income Tax, Banking and National Citizen Database.
  • State MMPs include Road Transport, Employment Exchange and Land Records.
  • Integrated MMPs include National e-governance Service Delivery Gateway (NSDG), eProcurement and EDI for eTrade. Each state government can also define five MMPs specific to its individual needs.
